About us

Rume is a carefully curated interior design store in the historic village of Martinborough, an hour north of Wellington.

 Owned and operated by Shontelle and Cameron who between them have backgrounds in architecture and interiors and a strong passion for design.  We would love to help you find and curate the perfect items for your home.

Our collection includes custom made sofas designed and made in Auckland by forma, in a huge range of fabrics from New Zealand fabric houses Warwick & James Dunlop.  As well as New Zealand designed furniture and homeware from beautiful brands such as Noho, Weave, Furtex, Baya, Citta’ and Lucy King.

There is a few select Scandinavian pieces designed by Kristina Dam and Broste Copenhagen and furniture by Ethnicraft in Belgium.

A must see is the Art, and in particular the Wolf of Wall Street light installation in our store by Wellington based artist and designer Tim Christie.

We are an authorised seller of American Lighting, representing premier manufacturers such as Hinkley, Visual Comfort, Lark Lighting, Generation Lighting, Feiss, Sea Gull Lighting, Allegri Crystal, Kalco and Tech Lighting, as well as Hubbardton Forge.

Our furniture & homeware will continue to evolve organically each season, making sure there is something for everyone.
