Custom Made
We can organise items from headboards to sofas, armchairs, and ottomans to be created in the style and fabric of your choice, this includes custom sized rugs.
Interior & Exterior Lighting
We are an authorised seller of American Lighting, representing premier manufacturers such as Hinkley, Visual Comfort, Lark Lighting, Generation Lighting, Feiss, Sea Gull Lighting, Allegri Crystal, Kalco and Tech Lighting, as well as Hubbardton Forge.
Interior Styling
Rume offers an interior styling service for the final touches in a new build or renovation or a total refresh of your home, rental property or holiday accommodation.
Shontelle can also come and help stage your home for sale, using what you have as well as a few extra lovely things (if required).
I work with you to transform your space into a true reflection of your personality and lifestyle focusing on the art of designing spaces that are functional, beautiful, and perfectly tailored to your taste.
Personalised Consultation
Your consultation will be with me - Shontelle, the owner and operator of Rume.
I will take the time to understand your vision, lifestyle, and inspiration. This includes assessing your space, discussing your ideas, and exploring different design styles to determine what will best suit you and your home.
Even if you don't know where to begin, just having a chat is a great start. I work with your budget and all you may need is a few cushions, a change around and a couple of plants, or you might want a whole new aesthetic.
With years of experience in furniture/homeware retail and also a huge passion for interiors and an eye for good design I love to help on all levels. Having lived in many different cities and homes with all kinds of aesthetics, this has lead to learning many creative ways to make a home beautiful.
Installation & Styling
I can organise everything from delivery to installation and can style your space down to the smallest detail, ensuring every piece is placed with intention and care, creating a cohesive and polished look.
Renovations or thinking of building?
Cam, the co-founder of Rume owns Moore Design, an award winning Architectural Design studio, servicing the whole Wellington Region and the Wairarapa. There is also an office at Papamoa.

- Casual chat in store or over the phone/email - always free!
- Up to 1 hour consultation in store or in your space - *$250.00
- 10% off any purchases made from Rume.
- Further work not included in the consultation will be charged at an hourly rate of $75.00 per hour (e.g coming back to your home to help with styling).
*The consultation fee also includes the time spent to put together personalised recommendations and ideas for you.
